Use of Google services

We use the following technologies of Google Ireland Ltd, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). The information automatically collected by Google technologies about your use of our website is generally transmitted to a server of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA and stored there. Unless otherwise specified for the individual technologies, data processing is carried out on the basis of an agreement concluded for the respective technology between jointly responsible parties in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR. Further information about data processing by Google can be found in Google’s privacy policy.

Our service providers are located and/or use servers in countries outside the EU and the EEA for which the European Commission has determined an adequate level of data protection by decision.

Our service providers are located and/or use servers in countries outside the EU and the EEA. There is no adequacy decision by the European Commission for these countries. Our cooperation with them is based on standard data protection clauses of the European Commission.

1 Google Analytics

For the purpose of website analysis, Google Analytics automatically collects and stores data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information on your use of our website), from which user profiles are created using pseudonyms. Cookies may be used for this purpose. Your IP address will not be merged with other Google data. Data processing is carried out on the basis of an agreement on order processing by Google.

For the purpose of optimized marketing of our website, we have activated the data sharing settings for “Google products and services”. This allows Google to access the data collected and processed by Google Analytics and then use it to improve Google services. The release of data to Google as part of these data release settings is based on an additional agreement between the responsible parties. We have no influence on the subsequent data processing by Google.

For the purpose of optimized marketing of our website, we use the so-called UserID function. With the help of this function, we can assign a unique, permanent ID to your interaction data for one or more sessions on our online presence and thus analyze your user behavior across devices and sessions.

For web analysis, the Google Analytics Google Signals extension function enables so-called “cross-device tracking”. If your internet-enabled devices are linked to your Google account and you have activated the “personalized advertising” setting in your Google account, Google can create reports on your usage behavior (in particular the cross-device user numbers), even if you change your device. We do not process any personal data in this respect; we only receive statistics generated on the basis of Google Signals.

For web analysis and advertising purposes, the extension function of Google Analytics enables the so-called DoubleClick cookie to recognize your browser when you visit other websites. Google will use this information to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage.

We use the Enhanced Conversions function of Google Analytics 4 on our website. Enhanced Conversions enables us to measure conversions more accurately by processing encrypted data provided by you in order to match it with existing Google accounts. As part of Enhanced Conversions, the following data is encrypted (hashed) and transmitted to Google: Your e-mail address. This data is used exclusively to better analyze and allocate your interactions (e.g. completed purchases) with our advertisements or our website. The legal basis for the use of Enhanced Conversions is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR, which you give us in the context of our cookie banner or a comparable consent solution. You can withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting the cookie settings on our website. The data collected as part of Enhanced Conversions is processed by Google in encrypted form and compared with existing user data in Google accounts in order to display personalized advertising or evaluate conversions. The information collected about your use of our website is usually transmitted to a server of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Your IP address will be shortened before it is stored on Google’s servers by activating IP anonymization. We have no influence or access to this data processing. The service provider used is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF). You can prevent the processing of your personal data for Enhanced Conversions at any time by revoking your consent in the cookie settings, deactivating the storage of cookies in your browser or blocking the use of Google Analytics via a browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Further information on data processing by Google can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

2 Google AdSense

Our website markets space for third-party advertisements via Google AdSense. These ads are displayed to you in various places on this website. The so-called DoubleClick cookie enables the display of interest-based advertising through the collection and processing of data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information about your use of our website) and the automatic assignment of a pseudonymous UserID, which is used to determine interests based on visits to this and other websites.

3 Google Ads

For advertising purposes in Google search results and on third-party websites, the so-called Google Remarketing Cookie is set when you visit our website, which automatically enables interest-based advertising by collecting and processing data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information and information about your use of our website) and by means of a pseudonymous cookie ID and on the basis of the pages you visit. Any further data processing will only take place if you have activated the “personalized advertising” setting in your Google account. In this case, if you are logged in to Google while visiting our website, Google will use your data together with Google Analytics data to create and define target group lists for cross-device remarketing.

For website analysis and event tracking, we use Google Ads Conversion Tracking to measure your subsequent usage behavior if you have reached our website via a Google Ads ad. For this purpose, cookies may be used and data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information on your use of our website based on events specified by us, such as visiting a website or subscribing to a newsletter) may be collected, from which user profiles are created using pseudonyms.
We use the Enhanced Conversions function on our website as part of Google Ads. Enhanced Conversions helps us to improve the effectiveness of our advertising measures by using encrypted customer data to enable a more precise allocation of conversions (e.g. purchases). Enhanced Conversions processes the following data that you have provided to us in the course of a purchase or contact process Your e-mail address. This data is encrypted using a hashing method (e.g. SHA-256) before being transmitted to Google and can be compared by Google with existing user data (e.g. in Google accounts). Enhanced Conversions is used to measure and optimize the effectiveness of our Google Ads advertising campaigns. This allows us to better understand how successful our advertising measures are and how users interact with our ads. The legal basis for the use of Enhanced Conversions is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR, which you give us via our cookie banner or a similar consent system. You can withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your cookie settings on our website. The encrypted data is transmitted to Google servers in the USA and processed there. Google uses this data exclusively to analyze campaign performance and to attribute conversions. The information collected about your use of our website is generally transmitted to a server of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Your IP address is shortened before it is stored on Google’s servers by activating IP anonymization. We have no influence or access to this data processing. The service provider used is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF). You can deactivate the use of Enhanced Conversions for Google Ads by revoking your consent in the cookie settings, blocking the storage of cookies in your browser or deactivating personalized advertising in your Google account at https://adssettings.google.com. Further information on data processing by Google can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Hotjar

We use Hotjar to better understand our users’ needs and optimize this service and user experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us analyze user experiences (e.g., how much time users spend on specific pages, which links they click, what they like, and what they dislike). This enables us to develop and improve our service based on user feedback.

Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on user behavior and their devices. This includes the IP address of the device (processed during the session and stored in anonymized form), screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), and the preferred language in which our website is displayed.

Hotjar stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymized user profile. Hotjar is contractually prohibited from selling data collected on our behalf.

For more details, please refer to the “About Hotjar” section on Hotjar’s support page.

Use of Font Libraries (Google Web Fonts)

To ensure that our content is displayed correctly and graphically appealing across all browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries like Google Web Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Web Fonts are loaded into your browser’s cache to prevent multiple downloads. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts or restricts access, the content will be displayed using a standard font.

When accessing script libraries or font libraries, a connection to the operator of the library is automatically established. In theory, it is possible — though currently unclear — whether and for what purposes the operators of these libraries collect data.

You can find Google’s data protection policies here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Use of Google Maps

This website uses the Google Maps API to visually display geographic information. When using Google Maps, Google collects, processes, and uses data about the utilization of map features by visitors.

Further information about Google’s data processing can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy, where you can also adjust your personal privacy settings in the Privacy Center.

Detailed instructions for managing your data related to Google products can be found here.

Embedded YouTube Videos

On some of our websites, we embed YouTube videos. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection is established with YouTube’s servers, and YouTube is informed about which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account before visiting our website.

When a YouTube video is played, the provider sets cookies that collect information about user behavior.

If you have disabled the storage of cookies for the Google advertising program, you should not encounter such cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube may still store non-personal usage information in other cookies. To prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser settings.

For more information about YouTube’s data protection policies, please refer to the provider’s privacy policy at:

https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

Social Media Buttons

On our website, we offer you the option to use so-called “social media buttons.” To protect your data, we implement the Shariff solution. This means that these buttons are only integrated as graphics on the website, each containing a link to the corresponding website of the button provider. By clicking on the graphic, you are redirected to the services of the respective provider.

Your data will only be transmitted to the respective providers when you click on the graphic. If you do not click on the graphic, there will be no exchange of data between you and the social media providers. Information about the collection and use of your data in social networks can be found in the respective terms of use of the providers. More information about the Shariff solution can be found here:
